Introduction:  Do you realize the benefits you have through Jesus Christ?  You have experienced the love of the cross.  You have experienced the renewal of the Holy Spirit.  Paul expresses to Timothy that in Jesus Christ you are justified and made a partaker of the graces of God.

1.  You are a recipient of the love of God.  Titus 3:4.  “But after that the kindness and love of God our savior toward man appeared.”  Jesus is Gods greatest demonstration of love toward mankind; having layed down His life for our sins; and justifying us before God.  a.  Love was demonstrated.  4a.  “The kindness and love of God.”  Jesus is that demonstration of concrete love bestowed on man.  b.  Action was taken.  4b.  “Our savior toward man appeared.”  Jesus actively carried out the will of God for our benefit.

2.  You are a recipient of the mercy of God.  Titus 3:5.  “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”  God has bestowed great benefits through His mercy which He is offering to all.  a.  Its a free gift.  “Not by works of righteousness which we have done.”  The benefits of God are totally un-earned; which you receive from God through faith in Jesus Christ.  b.  Its Gods doing.  “But according to His mercy he saved us.”  It was Gods benevolent love, mercy and grace which He extended to you.  c.  You must receive Gods grace by receiving Jesus Christ.  “By the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”  Once you believe, accept, and receive Jesus Christ; calling upon Him to save you and give you eternal life; then the Holy Ghost enters your life and begins regeneration and renewal.

3.  You are a recipient of the blessing of the Holy Ghost.  Titus 3:6.  “Which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour.”  God has now given you the Holy Spirit to live with you; and abide with you forever; as a seal of God upon you; as a guarantee of citizenship in Heaven.  a.  God has given Him abundantly.  “Shed abundantly.”  God is not stingy in sharing His most precious gifts; both His Son and the Holy Spirit.  b.  All this made possible through Jesus Christ.  “Through Jesus Christ.”  Jesus work at calvery is what the Holy Spirit is making real to you; and Jesus sent the Holy Spirit.

4.  You are a recipient of the grace of God.  Titus 3:7.  “That being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”  Because of Gods grace through Jesus Christ; we are made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.  a.  Thank God for His grace.  “That being justified by His grace”  Its by Gods grace that you have been justified when you believed on Jesus Christ.  b.  You are citizens, heirs with the hope of eternal life.  “Made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”  Your an heir, and child who has an inheritance; and has eternal life.

Conclusion:  So consider the many benefits God has bestowed on you through Jesus Christ;  then you can confidently walk in the power God gives through the Spirit.
