Apostles Creed

The Creed is a road map to Heaven. In a world that says everything is “relative”. The Creed is “absolute” Truth. The word “creed” is from the Latin word “credo” which means “I believe”. The Creed is what every Christian should and must believe. The Creed is a standard for defining which religious beliefs are Christian and which are not and it has protected the Church from heresies for 2000 years.

The legend which has come down to us from the earliest centuries of Christianity tells us that the 12 Apostles, inspired by the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, authored this creed and taught it to all who were received into the Church that day! It further states that, from that day on, all who were received into the Church were required to memorize this creed as their Profession of Faith. This is consistent with the fact that there are no known written copies of the Apostles Creed for the first several hundred years of Church history.

The Creed tells you who made you, who you are, and where you are supposed to be going.

The Creed confirms The Trinity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
The Creed confirms Isaiah’s prophecy the “the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son”.
The Creed tells us that God Himself became man and took our just punishment upon Himself.
The Creed tells us that He died!
The Creed tells us how He died!
The Creed tells us that He rose from the dead!

The Lord Jesus Christ has opened the path for us! Dying He destroyed our death; rising He restored our life!
Good News just doesn’t get any better than this!
He ascended into Heaven – the Apostles saw this happen!
He is seated at the right hand of The Father
And He is coming back everybody so GET READY NOW!
I Believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried: the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the blood bought Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

Now you know the whole story!
